You have to admire this man, Ron Prosor, Israel's Ambassador to the UN.  He has wisdom, honesty, strength and patience - all necessary qualities for such a difficult position in diplomacy.  A dear friend and VOS member, Loren Witkin and I met the ambassador at an AIPAC National Summit in Boston.

Rabbinical School

I started studying at the Academy for Jewish Religion, Los Angeles, six years ago. The plan was to complete the degree and become ordained in five years. I remember thinking, "Five years!" Now, those five years have passed and a sixth has passed as well and I am still studying Talmud, Hebrew and Aramaic grammar and texts, biblical commentaries and countless books and courses on subjects relevant to leading a community.

I am about to start a new year of study at the Academy.  It may be my last, depending on how many classes, midterm and final papers I can manage between September and June.  I also have a large thesis to write over the course of the year... We'll see...
